Waxing Gibbous Moon: This is my favorite image as many interesting things are visible. Craters, mountains, seas of lava and other details are just some of those that dot the surface. In the full resolution version (here, 147k) you can distinguish craters as small as 3 or 4 miles across. This is a mosaic of several dozen smaller images. |
Nearly-full Moon. The Moon is much, much brighter when it is full. |
